EOS 5

Whisper quiet film transport. Take for example,

the EOS 5’s amazingly quiet film transport, allowing you

to take photos in situations

where even the slightest noise

would ruin the shot. Subjects

like an animal in the wild can

be shot unawares thanks to the camera’s two specialised

motors capable of significantly reducing vibration noise.

You can also choose between two rewind modes. The

‘silent’ mode takes a little while longer to rewind but is

even quieter than the normal mode.

Unrivalled focusing and exposure power. The

EOS 5 has five focusing points spread across the frame,

these points can be selected manually or you can set the

camera to automatic for selection of the appropriate

point. The EOS 5 has equally as powerful metering

power. The camera’s evaluative metering system takes

reading from 16 zones of your

scene and compares them to a

library of typical scenes from

its built-in microcomputer.

Thanks to this system the EOS 5 instantly detects light or

dark backgrounds and adjusts the exposure accordingly.

Eye-controlled autofocus. Eye-controlled

autofocusing is yet another of the EOS 5’s advanced

abilities. Just look at the subject within the viewfinder

and the nearest focusing point of the five is activated.

Action shots are easy too, as the active focusing point

changes as your eye follows a moving subject across the

screen.
